Lauren Boebert's son appears in Colorado court on child exploitation charges

Tyler Boebert, the 21-year-old son of Rep. Lauren Boebert, faced a court hearing in Glenwood Springs on multiple child sexual exploitation counts.

Tyler Boebert, 21, appeared pro se before Judge Elisa Myer at the Garfield County Combined Courts in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, where he was charged by the Ninth Judicial District Attorney’s Office with three counts of sexual exploitation of a child and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The allegations stem from sexually explicit photos and videos of a minor that were posted to Instagram and circulated online in 2024.

Myer issued a mandatory protection order prohibiting Boebert from contacting two protected individuals while permitting him to maintain his employment, advising him to avoid the workplace if those parties arrive. The prosecutor, Deputy District Attorney Tony Hershey, documented the upcoming court date and handed Boebert the notice. Boebert also faces separate misdemeanor child-abuse and criminal-negligence charges in Weld County, and a pending sentencing for a 2024 identity-theft plea.
