Lawyer shot dead on Katihar staircase as video captures attackers walking away

On Monday morning in Katihar district, advocate Guddu Ansari, 35, was shot dead after three youths forced him to sit on a staircase near Patel Chowch and fired at his chest. The incident, captured on a phone video, shows the attackers calmly walking away after the shooting. Local residents hurried the wounded lawyer to a hospital, where doctors confirmed his death.

Katihar senior police officer Parichay Kumar reported that police footage shows four individuals linked to the crime and that investigative teams are examining shop-area CCTV to trace their movements. Authorities have not confirmed a motive, though the victim’s family suspects an old dispute. Police said they aim to arrest the perpetrators within a day.
