During the Batimat construction fair in Paris, Marine Le Pen, Gabriel Attal and Jean-Luc Mélenchon each delivered a six-minute presentation of their housing-policy platforms. The salon, which gathers building professionals at the Porte de Versailles, provided a forum for the politicians to address the alleged shortage of affordable homes. Following their remarks, they answered questions posed by Frédéric Carré of the Fédération française du bâtiment, Stanislas Lacroix of Uniclima, and Jean-Christophe Repon of the Confédération de l’artisanat et des petites entreprises du bâtiment.
The session was not a debate but a structured “grand oral.” Notably, Edouard Philippe and Bruno Retailleau did not attend, each engaged elsewhere. The three leaders used the occasion to stress the urgency of expanding housing supply across France.
