LeBron James Foundation partners with PGA Tour for new youth golf invitational

LeBron James and the PGA Tour have joined forces to launch the LeBron James Family Foundation Invitational, a two-day tournament slated for July 6-7, 2027 at Firestone Country Club. The gathering aims to connect aspiring golfers from the foundation's I PROMISE program with professionals who progressed through the PGA Tour's Pathway to Progression Pro-Bound Five initiative. Executive director Michele Campbell noted the event will broaden access to golf for underrepresented players and expose Akron youth to new possibilities.

PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp emphasized that both organizations view golf as a vehicle for opportunity and community building. The invitational follows Firestone's recent departure from hosting the Kaulig Companies Championship after a 72-year history of PGA Tour events, including the former Bridgestone Invitational. James has also launched a YouTube channel documenting his own golfing journey, underscoring his commitment to the sport.
