Lee Jun-suk clinches inaugural Asian Games teqball gold for South Korea

At the Asian Games in Nagoya, South Korea's Lee Jun-suk secured the inaugural men's singles teqball title, beating Iraq's Ali Jalil Mezher Alelayawi in straight sets (12-11, 12-5). Lee entered the competition undefeated, triumphing in all five group-stage matches and advancing through the knockout stage without a loss. The final took place at the Nagoya City Higashi Sports Center, and the win marked South Korea's third gold medal at the event.

Teqball, a sport invented in Hungary in 2014 that combines elements of football, table tennis, freestyle skills and sepaktakraw, is played on a curved table with players using any body part except the hands. Lee's earlier doubles partner, Lee Tae-been, had been eliminated in the quarterfinals, but Lee Jun-suk seized the singles opportunity to claim gold.
