Leeds draw with Manchester United after Calvert-Lewin equaliser

Dominic Calvert-Lewin's second-half goal earned Leeds a 1-1 draw with Manchester United, extending United's winless streak to five games.

At Elland Road, United took the initiative when Bryan Mbeumo slipped past James Justin to score in the 35th minute, putting the visitors ahead. Leeds United fought back, and early in the second half Dominic Calvert-Lewin headed in from a Tarik Muharemovic corner to restore parity. The match ended 1-1, leaving Manchester United without a win in their last five league fixtures.

Michael Carrick kept Lisandro Martinez in the starting XI, while Leeds captain Ethan Ampadu marked his 100th appearance. Substitutions saw Noussair Mazraoui replace Martinez at halftime, but neither side could find a winner despite several chances from players such as Ao Tanaka, Noah Okafor and Anton Stach.

Why it matters

The draw maintains Manchester United's poor form and denies Leeds a long-awaited home victory over their rivals.
