The recording includes explicit language targeting Israeli leader Bibi Netanyahu, former U.S. President Donald Trump, and the mainstream media. Köktürk, who also serves as the social policy spokesperson for her parliamentary group, has a history of confrontations with Bundestag officials, including a fine of 2,000 euros for repeated interjections and a prior incident where she was barred from the plenary for refusing to remove a "Palestine" shirt.

The controversy emerges as The Left, now the strongest party in Berlin after recent elections, engages in preliminary coalition discussions with the Greens and SPD, where accusations of antisemitism remain unresolved.
