While descending to the ground floor of his Marly-le-Roi home, 97-year-old singer Hugues Aufray came face-to-face with two men who had slipped in through an open window. The intruders asked him to hand over his valuable possessions, but the residence’s alarm triggered, prompting them to flee empty-handed. No items were taken and no injuries were reported.
Responding officers observed no material damage at the scene. The Versailles prosecutor’s office has launched a formal inquiry, assigning the case to the national police jurisdiction of Saint-Germain-en-Laye. Despite the incident, Aufray continues his performing career.
