Lenny Kravitz Chosen as Second Kenbassador for Barbie's 65th Anniversary

Musician Lenny Kravitz will be immortalized as a collectible Ken doll, the second ever named a “Kenbassador,” to mark Barbie’s 65th birthday.

Lenny Kravitz, the 62-year-old rock star and father of actress Zoe Kravitz, has been appointed the second “Kenbassador” in Mattel’s Barbie Signature Kenbassadors line, celebrating the toy’s 65th anniversary. The collectible doll mirrors Kravitz’s on-stage look, including a bronze-colored mesh cowl-neck tank top, denim jeans, studded belt, boots, sunglasses and his trademark dreadlocks. The first Kenbassador was basketball legend LeBron James.

Mattel’s Barbie head, Nathan Baynard, said the honor reflects Kravitz’s genre-defying music and bold personal style that inspires fans. The figure will be sold exclusively online and through select retailers for $70 (£52) beginning September 17.
