Lenovo unveils IdeaPad Vibe laptop series with multiple colors and chip options

Lenovo announced the IdeaPad Vibe, a new productivity laptop positioned as a competitor to the MacBook Neo, with a starting price of $700. The series comes in 14-inch and 15-inch models and will be offered in seven distinct colors—dreamy violet, spicy gold, zen green, chill blue, radiant coral, moody blue, and lowkey gray—each with a backlit keyboard and, for most, an all-metal chassis. Processor options include AMD Ryzen AI 400-series chips expected in October and Qualcomm Snapdragon X chips slated for November, while Intel-based versions are promised later.

The Vibe provides a richer port selection than the Neo, featuring two USB-C, two USB-A, HDMI 1.4, a 3.5 mm audio jack and a microSD reader, though none are high-speed. Standard IPS LCD panels are included, with optional touchscreen OLED upgrades limited to the gray and blue colors. Memory starts likely at 8 GB, with the Qualcomm model supporting up to 24 GB and the AMD model up to 32 GB of user-upgradeable RAM, and storage can reach 1 TB via dual-slot SSDs.
