Levain Bakery to Open First Orange County Shop at Fashion Island

Levain Bakery announced a new store in Newport Beach’s Fashion Island mall, slated for September.

Levain Bakery, famous for its thick, gooey cookies, is set to launch a storefront in Newport Beach’s Fashion Island mall during September. The move adds a fourth California venue to the chain, which already operates stores in Beverly Hills, Larchmont Village and Venice, and follows a growth trajectory that includes locations across New York, Maryland, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Florida. Co-founders Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald highlighted the brand’s community-building ethos and Southern California’s enthusiasm for their treats.

The new shop, located at 315 Newport Center Drive near Macy’s and Sushi Roku, will also provide full barista service, offering drinks such as cappuccinos, cold-foam beverages, matcha and lattes. Levain’s menu will continue to showcase its range of flavors, from Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip to Raspberry Pistachio, maintaining the bakery’s hallmark texture of a crisp edge and a gooey center.

Why it matters

The opening expands a popular bakery’s presence to a new market, offering local consumers more dining options.
