Levante secure season-long loan for Liverpool's 18-year-old defender Ifeanyi Ndukwe

Spanish side Levante have arranged a loan for Liverpool youngster defender Ifeanyi Ndukwe, with the club taking on his wages for the upcoming season.

Levante have finalized a loan arrangement to acquire Liverpool's promising defender Ifeanyi Ndukwe for the coming season. The 18-year-old, who primarily operates as a centre-back, is an Austrian youth international who rose through the ranks at Austria Wien before moving to England. Liverpool signed him with the expectation that he could eventually break into the first team, but the loan to the Spanish club will give him regular top-flight experience.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reported that the agreement is verbal and that Levante will shoulder Ndukwe's salary throughout the loan period. The deal reflects Levante's strategy to strengthen their defensive options while providing the young player with valuable game time. Conor Laird reported the news.

Why it matters

The loan gives a young talent regular play in a top league and adds defensive depth to Levante.
