LevelK signs on to co-produce Norwegian thriller Anathema for Haugesund market
Copenhagen sales firm LevelK has joined the Norwegian psycho-thriller Anathema, directed by Ea Johanne Sandberg and Alpha Nord, as it prepares for the Nordic Co-Production Market in Haugesund.
LevelK, a Copenhagen-based sales and aggregation company, announced its participation in the upcoming Norwegian psycho-thriller Anathema, directed by the duo Ea Johanne Sandberg and Alpha Nord. The story centers on Dafne, who confronts the death and eerie return of her brother, leading the isolated valley community into a collective delusion. The film is being shepherded by veteran producers Janne Hjeltnes and Anne Borgaard Sørensen of Empathitude Pictures, the first feature under their Oslo-Copenhagen banner.
Funding comes from the Norwegian Film Institute and a three-way co-production arrangement with Empathitude Pictures and Germany’s Junafilm. LevelK’s head of PR and marketing, Natascha Degnova, highlighted the project’s alignment with the company’s strategy to back genre-forward, boundary-pushing works from emerging Gen Z filmmakers. The producers are using the Nordic Co-Production Market and the New Nordic Films sidebar at the Norwegian International Film Festival to attract further partners and distribution deals.
Why it matters
The deal expands LevelK’s genre slate and supports emerging Scandinavian filmmakers in bringing a bold new thriller to global audiences.
