LG Innotek launches AI-driven system to speed up component selection

LG Innotek unveiled an AI-powered tool that suggests suitable components and estimates prices, cutting selection time by about 70%.

LG Innotek announced the completion of an artificial-intelligence based component recommendation platform, a project that took two years to build. Users input desired specifications, and the system searches a repository of more than 2 million internal and external parts, proposing alternatives with comparable features. A distinctive feature is its reference-price function, which analyses historic purchase records and market price movements to suggest a current price range with an accuracy exceeding 96%.

By automating price calculations, the tool shortens the process by about 70%, reducing a task that once required extensive quotation checks to roughly two hours. The company expects the saved time to be redirected toward deeper analysis of customer needs and higher-quality proposals. An LG Innotek spokesperson described the system as a transformative innovation that reshapes traditional manufacturing workflows.

Why it matters

The AI tool can dramatically cut product development time and costs for manufacturers.
