Lim Han Kwang to Lead YTL PowerSeraya as New Chief Executive
YTL PowerSeraya announced that deputy CEO Lim Han Kwang will become its chief executive on Jan 1, succeeding John Ng, who will stay on the board.
YTL PowerSeraya has named deputy chief executive Lim Han Kwang as its next chief executive, with the appointment taking effect on Jan 1. Lim succeeds John Ng, who will step down from the CEO role after overseeing a record-earning stretch but will continue serving as a board director. The handover completes a planned succession that started in 2024 when Lim was promoted to deputy CEO while retaining leadership of Geneco, the company's retail arm.
Lim brings experience from the Energy Market Authority, Singapore Power, Sembcorp Industries, and a 2020 return to the group as head of strategy and risk management. As CEO, he will oversee Geneco, PetroSeraya, and Taser Power, guiding the firm through investments like an estimated S$800 million, 600-MW hydrogen-ready combined-cycle gas turbine at Pulau Seraya, expected to be operational by late 2027.
Why it matters
The leadership change could shape YTL PowerSeraya's role in Singapore's shift toward cleaner energy.
