Lionel Messi commissions 27-metre luxury catamaran with private jetski garage
Lionel Messi has ordered a nearly 27-metre luxury catamaran from Sunreef Yachts, currently being built in Dubai and equipped with a dedicated jetski garage.
Lionel Messi has placed an order for a 27-metre Ultima 88 luxury catamaran from the Polish builder Sunreef Yachts, with the boat under construction in Dubai. The yacht will house five high-end cabins, including an owner’s suite that spans the full width of the vessel, large sun-bathing areas, an outdoor dining space and a lounge that opens directly onto the water. A retractable rear deck lets guests relax almost on the sea surface, and a private jetski garage will be powered by two 1,000-horsepower engines.
Beyond personal use, the catamaran will join the fleet of MIM Ocean, a Balearic-based luxury charter company that already operates three smaller catamarans. Sunreef Yachts is popular with top athletes, counting Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, Robert Lewandowski, Fernando Alonso and Nico Rosberg among its clientele, and Alcaraz has also ordered the same Ultima 88 model.
Why it matters
The purchase highlights the growing trend of elite athletes investing in high-end yachts and luxury charter businesses.
