Liquidator BCR Advisory Takes Over Collapsed Perth Modular Home Builder Bella Modular

Bella Modular, a Western Australian producer of portable granny flats and office buildings, has been placed into liquidation and Sydney-based BCR Advisory has been named liquidator. The firm discovered it could not finish outstanding projects after citing financial difficulties, leaving dozens of clients and subcontractors with unpaid deposits and invoices. One customer, a 76-year-old who paid $130,000, said she was left without a home and had to spend additional money to secure another modular unit.

BCR’s consultant Geoff Davis reported that the company’s site contained only a single unfinished unit and appeared stripped of valuable equipment, prompting a focus on financial recoveries such as trademarks. The liquidator will also examine whether the directors engaged in unreasonable transactions or operated while insolvent, which could lead to compensation claims. Government officials have signalled possible regulatory review, and the consumer protection commissioner has urged affected parties to lodge formal complaints.
