Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino appeared at Disney’s D23 event, teasing the upcoming Hulu-Disney+ sequel to Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion.
At Disney’s D23 convention, Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino made a joint appearance, dressed alike in white and speaking with their iconic Valley-girl accents. They announced that the sequel to Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion will keep fashion at its core, feature their Beverly Hills boutique, and explore a new love storyline. Kudrow joked that they are now “officially Disney princesses,” a sentiment echoed by Sorvino.
The sequel, written by original screenwriter Robin Schiff, will stream solely on Hulu and Disney+ as a Hulu Original. The returning ensemble includes Janeane Garofalo, Alan Cumming, Camryn Manheim and Julia Campbell, while the cast is expanded with Keegan-Michael Key, Rob Huebel, Breckin Meyer, Patrick Warburton and Nathan Lee Graham. The original 1997 film, once a modest box-office performer, has become a cult favorite, prompting renewed interest after the pair presented at the 2022 SAG Awards. Kudrow recently hinted on a talk-show that the script is very funny and production is progressing.
