Lithuanian minibus crashes on wet road in Neumarkt, four injured
A 25-year-old driver of a Lithuanian minibus lost control on a rain-slick B 317 near Neumarkt in der Steiermark, hitting a stone wall and overturning, injuring four passengers.
A heavy accident unfolded on Thursday near Neumarkt in der Steiermark when a Lithuanian minibus, carrying a six-person travel group, slid on a rain-soaked stretch of the B 317. The 25-year-old driver lost traction, struck a stone wall and the bus rolled onto its side. While the driver and his passenger emerged without injuries, four other passengers were hurt to varying degrees and were transported to medical facilities in Judenburg and Klagenfurt.
Police reported that an alcohol test on the driver returned negative. In a later incident on the same day, a 23-year-old woman driving toward Vienna lost control on the A2 near Laßnitzthal, spun out and collided with a truck; she was rescued by fire and rescue services and hospitalized, whereas the truck driver was unharmed.
