Live Orchestra Celebrates 'La La Land' 10th Anniversary at Venice’s Teatro La Fenice

On Sept 5, a live-to-film concert commemorating the decade-old musical ‘La La Land’ was presented at Venice’s historic Teatro La Fenice.

To mark the 10th anniversary of ‘La La Land’, a special “La La Land in Concert” screening was held on Sept 5 during the 83rd Venice Film Festival at the opulent Teatro La Fenice. The film was shown alongside a live orchestral performance conducted by its composer Justin Hurwitz, who led the Orchestra Regionale Filarmonia Veneta. Director Damien Chazelle, composer Hurwitz, and legendary pianist Randy Kerber, known for his work on the original score, were present.

The Cartier Cinema Club, together with Lionsgate and Hurwitz Concerts, organized the free public event, emphasizing cultural outreach. Artistic director Alberto Barbera praised the film as the finest contemporary musical, while Cartier’s senior vice president Arnaud Carrez highlighted the brand’s commitment to supporting cinema and Venice’s cultural heritage.

Why it matters
