Liverpool watches Genk teen keeper as Nottingham Forest eyes Georgian international

Liverpool's talent department, led by Matt Newberry, is monitoring 18-year-old Lucca Brughmans of Genk, a goalkeeper who has already featured in four senior games and represented Belgium at the U-19 level. The club's interest is currently limited to observation, partly because Real Madrid is also reported to be tracking the young keeper. At the same time, Nottingham Forest are reportedly evaluating a possible signing of Georgia's Giorgi Mamardashvili, whose future could affect Liverpool's goalkeeper hierarchy.

Mamardashvili, signed for £29 million from Valencia, made 20 appearances last season, covering for Alisson Becker during injury. Liverpool's current third-choice, Freddie Woodman, may see his role shift if Mamardashvili departs. The transfer window closes at 11 pm on Tuesday, leaving both clubs to decide before the deadline.
