Local transport firm Lillestrøm Logistikk files for bankruptcy amid rising costs and sick leave
Lillestrøm Logistikk AS, a regional transport company with about 50 staff, declared bankruptcy, citing high operating expenses and extensive employee sick leave.
Lillestrøm Logistikk AS, a transport and logistics provider operating from Killingmo næringspark, announced its insolvency after filing for bankruptcy on Friday. Established in 2018, the firm expanded its fleet and workforce over several years, but escalating diesel prices and other operating costs outpaced revenue. CEO and majority shareholder Artur Stolinski highlighted that a significant portion of the staff was on sick leave, leading to costly temporary staffing.
The company owed substantial sums to creditors, while its assets include vehicles and a warehouse. The court has scheduled a creditors' meeting for mid-November, and over 40 workers are expected to claim unpaid wages and holiday pay.
Why it matters
The collapse underscores how rising fuel costs and high sick leave can jeopardize regional transport services and local employment.
