Lorry Driver Charged with Murder After Multi-Vehicle Crash Kills Four on East Coast Expressway
A lorry driver was formally charged with four murders after an 11-vehicle collision on the East Coast Expressway that killed a family of three and a passerby.
The 52-year-old driver, Zulkarnain Md Noh, faced murder charges for the deaths of Muhammad Nazatullah Nazmi, his wife Nur Atiqah Sofiya Mohd Kazwan, their four-year-old son Muhammad Armaan Nazeef, and Seow Beng Wai. The indictment was read in court at Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah before Magistrate Nuur Fakhizaa Abu Bakar, with prosecutors Najimi Arif Nasarudin and Anis Syakilla Zawawi representing the state. The offences fall under Section 302 of the Penal Code, punishable by death or lengthy imprisonment with corporal punishment. A further hearing is scheduled for November 12.
