Los Angeles County ramps up mail-in voting as November election approaches
Los Angeles County has begun mailing ballots and opening vote centers ahead of the Nov. 3 general election, with over 400 drop boxes available.
In the final month before the Nov. 3 general election, Los Angeles County is distributing mail-in ballots and readying vote centers that will open on Oct. 24, supported by a network of over 400 ballot drop boxes. Voters who have not yet registered may request a ballot by mail up to Oct. 19. The election features high-profile contests such as the mayoral race between incumbent Karen Bass and City Council member Nithya Raman, as well as numerous local measures on taxes, wildfire recovery and city governance.
Critics like First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli have voiced concerns about the integrity of the state’s mail-in process, while officials and voting advocates defend existing safeguards. As millions of ballots are mailed out, scrutiny will focus on how the votes are verified, processed and counted.
