Los Angeles Hosts Luxury ICON Festival Showcasing Original Comic and Narrative Art

The inaugural ICON Festival of Comic & Narrative Art will take place Nov. 7-8 at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, featuring top comic creators and a major Alex Ross exhibition.

Sal Abbinanti and Steve Morger are launching the first ICON Festival of Comic & Narrative Art in Los Angeles, scheduled for Nov. 7-8 at the iconic Biltmore Hotel. The festival, conceived after successful editions in Italy, will gather prominent creators including Nick Dragotta, Daniel Warren Johnson, Ryan Ottley, and many others, alongside a dedicated exhibition of more than 100 original Alex Ross paintings. Organizers stress a boutique atmosphere with limited tickets, a VIP opening night reception, and a focus on direct artist-collector interaction, contrasting with larger commercial conventions.

The venue choice underscores the event’s ambition to treat comic art as serious fine art. Tickets—single-day, two-day and VIP packages—go on sale immediately, with the VIP tier offering a signed giclée of a new Ross work.

Why it matters

The festival highlights comic art's rise to fine-art status and offers collectors rare access to original works.
