Los Angeles judge denies mental-health diversion for influencer accused of luxury theft

A Los Angeles judge refused to place influencer Adva Lavie in a mental-health diversion program and kept her jailed without bail, questioning the credibility of her abuse allegations.

In a Los Angeles Superior Court hearing, Judge Diego H. Edber denied a diversion request for influencer Adva Lavie, stating that the mental-health reports relied on her own accounts and lacked supporting documentation. Lavie, 29, is accused of using sugar-daddy and dating sites to entice affluent older men and younger women before stealing luxury goods and vehicles in affluent neighborhoods such as Westlake Village, West Hollywood and Beverly Hills.

She faces two counts of grand theft and two counts of first-degree residential burglary, with a potential sentence exceeding eleven years. The judge also ordered her held without bail after noting her discussion of fleeing to Israel and multiple violations of a court-ordered ankle monitor. Concurrently, billionaire and former gubernatorial candidate Stephen Cloobeck was arrested on witness-tampering charges related to the case. Prosecutors indicated a new investigation may uncover further victims, and Lavie's recent arrest in Riverside County involved the theft of a Rolex, Louis Vuitton items and a Tesla Cybertruck.
