Louisianian arrested in Tennessee after driving with wife's corpse across states

Tyronne Brazille was stopped in Memphis, where police discovered his wife Lanessa Bradford dead in the passenger seat after he allegedly drove through several states with her body.

Police in Memphis pulled over Tyronne Brazille for a traffic violation and found the lifeless body of his wife, Lanessa Bradford, slumped in the passenger seat with a gunshot wound. Investigators allege the killing occurred during a dispute at Independence Community Park in Baton Rouge, after which Brazille drove the vehicle through several states before being apprehended. Friends say Bradford had been preparing to escape the marriage, having saved money and coordinated with out-of-town family members.

Shelicka Decker, a longtime acquaintance, recounted that Bradford had previously reported threats from Brazille but did not expect lethal violence. Bradford, an elementary-school teacher, had prompted a police welfare check after missing several days of work. Brazille is being held as a fugitive and is scheduled for a court appearance before his extradition to Louisiana, where a murder indictment is expected.
