LSEG partners with Nvidia to accelerate processing of massive historical market data

The London Stock Exchange Group announced a collaboration with Nvidia to speed up analysis of its vast Tick History dataset using the chipmaker's technology.

The London Stock Exchange Group disclosed a new partnership with Nvidia to improve the speed and scale of processing its extensive historical market data. By leveraging Nvidia's advanced processors, LSEG can analyze its Tick History—about 110 trillion rows spanning three decades and 100 million instruments—without creating duplicate copies, delivering insights in seconds. Ron Lefferts, co-head of data & analytics at LSEG, said customers need rapid access to detailed historical data as equity trading shifts toward continuous, 24-hour cycles.

The collaboration is part of LSEG’s broader strategy to expand its data and analytics offerings while maintaining control amid growing AI influence. LSEG, the largest one outlet customer, also intends to introduce LSE 24, a night-time trading platform for select exchange-traded products next year.

Why it matters

Faster analysis of massive market data could give investors quicker insights and support the shift to continuous trading.
