Lucid and Bolt announce plan for 25,000 autonomous robotaxis across Europe

Lucid Group and Bolt revealed a partnership to deploy 25,000 fully autonomous vehicles built on Lucid's forthcoming Midsize platform and powered by Nvidia's Hyperion architecture. The vehicles will be capable of Level 4 operation, allowing them to run without driver input within defined zones. Bolt will manage the fleet, develop safety and rider-experience standards, and establish the required infrastructure and municipal agreements.

This effort supports Bolt's broader ambition to expand its autonomous fleet to 100,000 units by 2035, amid growing robotaxi activity from Uber, Verne, Pony.ai and Waymo in cities such as Zagreb and Munich. Both firms also plan to collaborate with technology partners and European regulators to facilitate the launch. Lucid continues its U.S. robotaxi collaboration with Uber and Nuro, which includes a commitment for at least 35,000 vehicles.
