Lucky Voice to close three London karaoke venues as brand moves to new owner

Lucky Voice will shut its Soho, Holborn and Liverpool Street locations immediately, while the brand and three other sites transfer to Moyagi.

Lucky Voice, founded in 2005 and once a staple of the UK nightlife scene, has entered administration and will immediately cease operations at its Soho, Holborn and Liverpool Street venues. A rescue arrangement will see the Lucky Voice brand, its intellectual property, a B2B division and three surviving sites transferred to Moyagi, preserving 59 jobs. The shutdown of the three London locations will result in 53 redundancies.

Administrators from Interpath explained that the chain experienced a deterioration in trading and faced pressure from higher employment costs and energy bills. They added that the broader night-time economy is under strain, contributing to the company's inability to secure a solvent sale. The priority now is to manage redundancy claims for staff at the Brighton, Waterloo and Islington sites and ensure a smooth handover of the continuing venues.
