Luis Binks embraces first senior Scotland call-up under new coach Pocognoli
Brondby defender Luis Binks has been named in Sebastien Pocognoli’s inaugural Scotland squad for the Nations League, marking his senior debut.
Luis Binks, a 25-year-old defender from Brondby, earned his first senior Scotland call-up after new manager Sebastien Pocognoli released his initial squad for the Nations League. Having previously played for both Scotland and England at under-21 level, Binks said he never needed persuasion to choose Scotland, describing the opportunity as a lifelong ambition. He will be one of six debutants as Scotland faces Slovenia, North Macedonia and Switzerland in the upcoming fixtures.
The squad also features a few familiar faces, though most of Steve Clarke’s World Cup-final roster are absent. Binks highlighted the positive atmosphere he experienced with the under-16 side and expressed confidence in the team’s direction under the new coach. The upcoming matches will be staged in Ljubljana, Glasgow’s Hampden Park and Skopje.
