Lululemon launches 'Like New' resale platform, joining brands in second-hand market
Lululemon introduced its Like New service in Canada, letting customers sell or trade pre-owned gear for cash or store credit.
Lululemon has entered the resale arena with its newly launched Like New program in Canada, offering owners the option to sell pre-owned apparel for 70 % of the sale price in cash or 90 % as store credit. Items are sent to a 25,000-square-foot processing center in Calgary run by Tersus Solutions, where they undergo inspection, water-less liquid CO₂ cleaning, refurbishment and grading before being listed online. The service joins other premium brands such as Canada Goose and Arc'teryx in building brand-owned second-hand marketplaces, seeking to recoup value from returns and extend product life.
Executives highlighted the high margins of reselling damaged goods and the “phenomenal” volume of 1,000-1,500 items per day currently handled. Analysts note that brand-run resale can attract price-sensitive shoppers and support sustainability goals, a trend reflected in broader Canadian consumer behavior.
