MACC investigates missing 282,360 fertilizer bags for Kedah rice farmers
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission is probing a shortfall of 282,360 bags of fertilizer intended for roughly 60,000 padi farmers in Kedah.
Investigators say Taaveekun Manufacturing Sdn Bhd was obliged to deliver 616,015 bags of the compound fertilizer Baja 3 for the first planting season. By September only 333,655 bags had been supplied, leaving a deficit of 282,360 bags. The gap affects about 60,000 rice growers in the state, prompting a MACC inquiry led by Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman.
