Macron and Lecornu hit record lows in public approval, Ipsos poll shows
An Ipsos bva-CESI poll reports that only 16% of French respondents view President Emmanuel Macron favorably, while 20% back Minister Sébastien Lecornu.
According to an Ipsos bva-CESI poll, President Emmanuel Macron now records a historic low favorable rating of 16%, with 81% of respondents expressing a negative view of his performance. Minister Sébastien Lecornu’s approval has also slipped to 20%. Among tested personalities, former Prime Minister Édouard Philippe sees his rejection rate climb to 57% while his satisfaction drops to 19%.
The survey reveals heightened dissatisfaction for prospective candidates, including Jean-Luc Mélenchon (70% would be unhappy), Marine Tondelier (61%), Raphaël Glucksmann (52%), Gabriel Attal (60%), Bruno Retailleau (53%) and Marine Le Pen (52%). Gérald Darmanin remains the most popular minister at 38% favorable, followed by Laurent Nunez at 25% and Jean-Noël Barrot at 12%.
