Macron's approval drops to 15%, the lowest level since his 2017 inauguration

A recent Ipsos BVA-Cesi poll shows President Emmanuel Macron’s favorable rating at 15%, the weakest point of his term.

According to an Ipsos BVA-Cesi barometer released on Saturday, President Emmanuel Macron now enjoys just 15% favorable opinions, marking the lowest support level since he entered the Élysée in 2017. The online poll, carried out in early September, also reveals that French citizens are most worried about buying power, the future of the social system and the country's debt. Macron’s backing among centrist voters stands at 53% versus 47% negative.

Prime Minister Édouard Philippe recovered two points after a recent plunge, reaching 22% favorable. Potential successors Jordan Bardella and Marine Le Pen remain ahead in the successor ranking, each with roughly one-third support, while Bardella and Le Pen each slipped a few points. The survey sampled 1,000 adults using quota methodology, with a margin of error between 0.6 and 3.1 points.
