Macron to meet high-school groups on Friday to discuss education concerns
President Emmanuel Macron will receive representatives of high-school organisations at the Élysée on Friday at 15:00 to hear their demands.
On Friday at 15:00, President Emmanuel Macron is set to host delegations from France's high-school organisations at the presidential palace. Attendees will feature the principal student bodies such as Renouveau lycéen, Les Lycéens and the CAVL, representing a range of viewpoints. Combary, head of Renouveau lycéen, called the audience a positive step, whereas Pierre Sourzat of Les Lycéens warned that the discussion may not lead to concrete action.
The student leaders intend to hold a press conference after the meeting. Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu is scheduled to convene a broader dialogue on Monday with teachers’ unions, employer groups, local authorities and parliamentarians. Meanwhile, a government platform for student input has recorded thousands of submissions, with the education minister noting that most concerns focus on school timetables, understaffing, building conditions and the Parcoursup system.
Why it matters
The talks could shape future education policy and budget priorities for French high schools.
