Madrid government’s luxury apartment sale remains without buyer

The luxury apartment acquired by the regional government under Isabel Díaz Ayuso has been put back on the market, but no party submitted a bid before the deadline passed. Planifica Madrid, attached to the Consejería de Presidencia, recorded the failed tender in its recent procurement meeting. The Chamberí flat was offered together with a separate Gran Vía property, both priced at nearly seven million euros each, yet neither attracted interest.

Miguel Ángel García Martín explained that any revenue would be directed to rebuilding efforts after the Sierra Oeste wildfires, though the timing of fund allocation remains uncertain. Opposition forces from Más Madrid argue the transaction could result in a loss of public assets and intend to bring the case before the Tribunal de Cuentas. The sale remains open, with the possibility of a permanent public offering for the Gran Vía lot if no buyer emerges.
