Magic Johnson publicly celebrated Stan Kroenke’s agreement to purchase the Los Angeles Angels, pointing to the owner’s recent championships with the Los Angeles Rams, Colorado Avalanche and Denver Nuggets as a blueprint for success. Johnson, a minority owner of the rival Los Angeles Dodgers, added a personal note, thanking Kroenke and his wife Ann for allowing him and his partner to charter their 281-foot yacht Aquila for seven years.

The superyacht, which can host 12 guests and a crew of 28, is listed at roughly $945,000 per one outlet, though the terms of Johnson’s use were not disclosed. Angels star Mike Trout also expressed enthusiasm, describing Kroenke’s winning history as a “good sign” for the franchise. The endorsement arrives as the Angels aim to break a decade-long playoff absence, hoping Kroenke’s ownership will bring a new culture of victory to Anaheim.
