Major Indian banks and firms set to release Q2 FY27 earnings on Oct 17
On Oct 17, 18 Indian companies including HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank will publish their Q2 FY27 results.
A slate of 18 companies will announce their July-September FY2026-27 results on Saturday, headlined by leading banks HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank, as well as Yes Bank, IDBI Bank, Central Bank of India, Punjab & Sind Bank, India Cements and tech firm Le Travenues Technology (Ixigo). Analysts anticipate HDFC Bank delivering low single-digit profit growth, driven by strong FCNR(B) deposit inflows but pressured margins, marking the final report under MD and CEO Sashidhar Jagdishan before Anup Bagchi takes over.
Axis Bank is expected to record a 37-43% jump in net profit, supported by 20-22% loan growth, though its net interest margin may slip 7-12 basis points. Kotak Institutional Equities forecasts stable earnings for the banking sector, with private banks possibly achieving around 20% year-on-year growth and PSU banks flat. The earnings releases coincide with a modest rise in Indian equity benchmarks, as the Sensex gained 413.7 points and the Nifty50 rose 148.8 points, buoyed by lower oil prices and strong performance from IT stocks.
Why it matters
The earnings reveal the health of India's banking sector and signal market direction for investors.
