Malaga province rental rates hit record highs, Marbella two-bed flats top €1,800 monthly
Average rents in Malaga province have reached an all-time high, with a typical 80-square-metre two-bedroom flat costing about €1,504 per month, and Marbella topping €1,888.
Idealista’s third-quarter report indicates that rental prices across Malaga province have surged to unprecedented levels, with an average asking rate of €18.8 per square metre per month. This translates to about €1,504 each month for an 80-square-metre, two-bedroom apartment province-wide. Malaga is the only Andalusian province at its historic ceiling, up 5.7% over the previous year.
Marbella, the region’s priciest municipality, recorded €23.6 per square metre, making a typical two-bedroom flat cost around €1,888, just below its July peak. Nearby coastal towns Estepona and Mijas also broke previous records, reaching €21.1 and €17.1 per square metre respectively. While average Andalusian rents fell 1.4% in the summer quarter, limited supply on the Costa del Sol continues to drive up asking prices.
