Malaysia’s Hari Cuci Malaysia 2026 clean-up drive seeks to mobilise 200,000 volunteers and gather 28,000 kg of recyclables in a single day, according to Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming. The launch took place at Pasar Taman Sri Gombak in Kuala Lumpur, where officials noted that more than 95,000 people had already signed up online, not counting school participants, and that events would be held at 469 locations nationwide.
The programme, which set three Malaysia Book of Records achievements in 2024, is now partnered with the Education Ministry, involving 10,000 schools and integrating the activity into the physical-fitness assessment framework. Nga highlighted the government’s 9R solid-waste strategy and recent litter-offence penalties, while also noting that nearly 1,000 shopping centres must provide recycling facilities this year. The initiative underscores the Madani Government’s push for a culture of cleanliness and resource recovery across the community.
