Malaysia Aviation Group secures seven global partners to boost MRO capabilities

Malaysia Aviation Group announced seven new strategic alliances with international aviation and logistics firms to enhance its maintenance, repair and overhaul services.

During the MRO Asia-Pacific 2026 event in Singapore, Malaysia Aviation Group disclosed seven strategic collaborations with global aviation, engineering, technology and logistics companies. Partners such as Thales, Airbus Flight Hour Services, Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance, Boeing and Collins Aerospace will provide Malaysia Airlines with better access to components, repair services and technical know-how.

A logistics agreement with Ceva Logistics will streamline the movement of spare parts across the airline’s network, while an expanded tie-up with Batik Air Malaysia strengthens line-maintenance support at multiple sites. MAG’s president and group CEO, Captain Nasaruddin A Bakar, said the alliances combine worldwide expertise with the group’s own engineering strengths, helping the airline cope with fuel price volatility and other cost pressures. The group also intends to market MAB Engineering Services as an MRO provider to external carriers.

Why it matters

The partnerships could improve aircraft reliability and reduce costs for Malaysia's airlines, strengthening the country's aviation sector.
