Malaysia delays rollout of MLFF tolling system to allow more stakeholder input

During the opening of the MyAsean Road and Traffic Tech Expo 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, Works Minister Alexander Nanta Linggi clarified that the Multi-Lane Fast Flow (MLFF) tolling system will not be hurried. He explained that a specific timeline has been given to all involved parties, allowing them to negotiate and decide on the most suitable platform under a business-to-business framework. The highway association will facilitate discussions among concessionaires and other interested investors.
Current pilot testing of the JustGo system on certain expressways, including those operated by PLUS Malaysia Berhad, serves as an initial trial. The minister emphasized that the final platform—whether JustGo or an alternative—will be chosen collaboratively once the B2B negotiations conclude. Details of the arrangement will be made public after negotiations are completed.
