Malaysia reports RM5.88 billion in outstanding government-guaranteed Felda loans
The Ministry of Finance said that as of Sept 30, 2026, Felda’s government-backed loans total RM5.88 billion after RM3.04 billion of principal repayments.
In response to a parliamentary query on public-fund leakage, the Ministry of Finance reported that Felda’s government-guaranteed debt stands at RM5.88 billion as of Sept 30, 2026, following principal repayments of RM3.04 billion. The ministry confirmed that it has authorized RM9.9 billion in guarantees to help Felda secure financing for projects, investments and the Felda Recovery Plan. Of these guarantees, Felda has already accessed RM8.92 billion, while RM980 million worth of sukuk is still pending issuance.
To ensure timely repayment of the sukuk, the government will provide an annual grant of RM990 million for the next ten years. The figures were supplied in a written reply to Azli Yusof of Shah Alam.
