Malaysia's 12th Plan development spending stays under approved ceiling
The Auditor-General reports that development expenditure under the 12th Malaysia Plan remained below the ceiling set for the period, with nearly 9,600 projects recorded.
The Auditor-General’s Report 2/2026 indicates that development spending under Malaysia’s 12th Plan stayed within the approved ceiling. Final account data from the MyProjek system, provided by the Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department, recorded 9,578 development projects at the end of 2025. Of these, the majority were new projects launched under one outlet plan, while a portion continued from the 11th, 10th and 9th Plans.
Project statuses varied, with many in the implementation phase, a substantial number already completed and in use, and a few either kept in view or cancelled. Completed projects spanned social, economic, security and administrative sectors. The report offers a detailed snapshot of the plan’s progress and financial discipline.
