Malaysia's federal government records RM39.55 billion in investment dividends for 2025

The federal government received RM39.547 billion in investment dividends in 2025, a 1.4% rise from the previous year, according to the Auditor General’s Report 2/2026.

The Auditor General’s Report 2/2026 shows the federal government collected RM39.547 billion in investment dividends for 2025, up RM535 million (1.4%) from 2024. Receipts were sourced from 20 companies and two statutory bodies, compared with 21 companies the prior year. Petronas delivered the largest share at RM32 billion, and Bank Negara Malaysia increased its dividend to RM5.25 billion, up from RM2.85 billion.

Statutory bodies collectively earned RM5.275 billion, an 81.8% rise, while corporate dividends declined to RM34.271 billion, a 5.1% drop. The report also notes a decrease in the Ministry of Finance Incorporated’s investment book value to RM34.117 billion after redeeming certain preference shares.
