Malaysia sees officer killing, school axe assault and baby death amid organized-crime raids
A Malaysian border officer was found dead, a teenager attacked a teacher with an axe, and a 10-month-old died from head injuries, while police also broke up a violent gang and a cross-border prostitution network.
Police investigations this week uncovered the murder of MCBA officer Norhazwani Ibrahim in Nilai, with her husband taken into custody after turning himself in. A separate incident in Kuching saw a 16-year-old Form Four student arrested for attacking a female teacher with an axe, resulting in a hand wound and the seizure of an axe, penknife and firecrackers. In Penang, a 10-month-old child died from blunt-force head injuries while under a babysitter's care, prompting the babysitter's detention for questioning.
The Federal police CID also announced the bust of Geng Suria, an organised crime group linked to 20 violent and property offences across Kedah and Perak, leading to six arrests and pending charges. Additionally, a coordinated Malaysia-Singapore raid resulted in the arrest of 30 individuals tied to an online prostitution ring that serviced customers in Singapore. These events underscore a surge in violent crime and a robust law-enforcement response.
