Malaysian police and MCMC seize over 650,000 illegal files in Op Pedo 3.0
Fifty-three individuals, including eight minors, were detained in Malaysia's Op Pedo Integrated 3.0, with authorities confiscating 95 devices and more than 650,000 illicit digital files.
During a nationwide sweep from Sept 14 to 16, Malaysian police together with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission executed Op Pedo Integrated 3.0, targeting 92 suspects. The effort led to 53 arrests, including eight children, with the detainees ranging from 13 to 56 years old and comprising 51 men and two women. Notable arrestees included a 24-year-old teacher in Pahang and a 44-year-old laboratory assistant in Terengganu.
Authorities conducted 52 raids that yielded arrests and seized 95 items, among them 90 digital devices such as phones, computers, laptops, tablets, storage units and routers, plus five sex toys. Preliminary analysis of the confiscated equipment revealed 653,193 digital files, including 540,127 files of child sexual abuse material and 113,066 adult pornography files.
