Malaysian woman Vinosha Ravi denies being Tamil Nadu minister in viral clip

A short video of a woman getting out of a car went viral, leading social media users to compare her appearance with Tamil Nadu industries minister S Keerthana. The woman, identified as Malaysian resident Vinosha Ravi, posted on Instagram to state that she—not the minister—was featured in the clip and that the misidentification stemmed from a lack of familiarity with her nationality. Ravi said the footage was recorded without her consent while she was on her way to work, and she has now lodged a complaint with Malaysian police.

She expressed hurt over the mixed reactions, including supportive messages and mocking comments, and emphasized that her clothing was appropriate for her occupation. Ravi also pushed back against suggestions she should dress more modestly, arguing the criticism was unrelated to her attire. Declaring the episode exhausting, she plans to withdraw from the controversy and asked the public to stop sharing the video.
