In his Asian Games debut, Malaysian wushu practitioner Muhammad Danish Aizad Firdaus Chua finished seventh in the men’s changquan competition, receiving a score of 9.700 from the judges. The event was held at the Aichi Prefectural Martial Arts Hall in Nagoya, and Danish Aizad highlighted the calmness of his performance, noting that the high-intensity atmosphere meant he focused on avoiding errors. He credited a two-month training stint in China for his solid showing.
The podium was topped by Macau’s Chi Hin Kuong with 9.723 points, followed closely by teammate Song Chi Kuan at 9.720 points and Indonesia’s Seraf Naro Siregar, also at 9.720 points, for silver and bronze. Malaysia’s wushu squad had set a target of two medals for the Games, which run until early October. Despite missing the medal goal, Danish Aizad expressed satisfaction with his personal performance.
